At Third Way Center, we prioritize employee well-being, encourage collaboration, celebrate achievements, and foster a supportive environment where staff can thrive while making a difference.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
At Third Way Center, we are on a journey to create a workplace and world where everyone has equal access to connect their greatest passions with their fullest potential. That starts with our people and how we lead, with a sense of decency and inclusion.
We are made up of people of all ages, from all walks of life, working side-by-side to strengthen communities. Together, we strive to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, cultural background, ethnicity, faith, gender, gender expression, gender identity, ideology, income, national origin, race, or sexual orientation, has the opportunity to reach their full potential with dignity. Our core values are truth, hope, justice, mental health, and courage — they guide everything we do.
At Third Way Center, when people feel respected and included, they can be more creative, innovative, and successful. While we have more work to do to advance diversity and inclusion, we’re invested in moving our company and industry forward.
Third Way Center’s end goal is to rehabilitate traumatized youth so that they can go out into the world and live successful, healthy lives. Once residents have successfully emancipated from our Residential Child Care Facilities, they are encouraged to employ the skills and training they gained through our treatment programs and begin their new chapter as confident, self-sufficient adults.
Next Steps provides after-care and transitional services for young adults who have successfully completed Third Way Center programs. Through Next Steps, youth can practice the skills they have learned, while receiving a safety net of support and guidance from Third Way Center.
Youth in the Next Steps program have either moved into apartments of their own, living with family, or another form of supportive housing. We offer transitional support, including individual, family, and group therapy, crisis management, assistance with finding stable housing, furnishing apartments, and finding employment. Youth are also able to continue working with their psychiatrist from Third Way Center and receive support with medication management. Through Next Steps, youth who have gone through our programs can feel secure in the knowledge that they are not alone; a qualified and caring clinical therapist is still with them on their journey as they transition to the next exciting phase of their lives.
Providing a continuity of the treatment process is an essential piece of the Next Steps program. The client will work closely with their clinician, ensuring support as they integrate into their home or their community. Their treatment does not simply end because of their transition, but continues in their new environment. Youth in the Next Steps program can also have the opportunity to participate in their treatment groups at their previous Third Way program. Youth are eligible to continue their education at Joan Farley Academy. Participants in the Next Steps program know they have someone in their corner, every step of the way, as they strive to achieve their goal of independent adult living.

I chose to work at Third Way Center because I knew I liked working in facility schools and was excited to work in a place that was successful without restraining students/clients.

Third Way Center offers a supportive, non-toxic work environment and is truly a great place to work. Its values and guiding principles are exactly what the world needs right now. By working at TWC, you have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference while earning a living. I am happy I am part of this Team!

I think the motto of the Third Way Center should be changed to "Truth, Hope, and Opportunity." Providing the opportunity to implement the Truth that our residents have realized and the Hope that is available to them allows them to obtain success in the real world. I desire to help prepare them for this journey and serve as a conduit to a new path that breaks generational family cycles and overcomes their personal limitations and self-doubt. It is important to me to help create an atmosphere that makes it possible for our residents to embody the principle of 'We Win Anyway.'

Third Way is an incredible place to learn. There is a lot of supervision available, and they approach everything from a team perspective. The client population is very challenging, but you never feel alone in the work that you do. Third Way prioritizes the care of its staff, enabling them to continue providing excellent care to clients.

The values and mission of Third Way Center are apparent when working day-to-day with youth. I love being a part of their story and seeing them work through their trauma!
